Welcome to Kinross Camera Club

The KCC have great pleasure in congratulating Auchterarder Camera Club for a well deserved win of the Perthshire Photographic Alliance. The trophy was handed over by President of KCC Dr. Duncan Robertson to President of Auchterarder Camera Club Allan Perera.

Our latest Picture a quarter page has just been updated and why not have alook in our news section for the latest goings on in the club

Time marches on and, not surprisingly, we are still some way from being released from Covid’s clammy claw. We therefore will be running the 2020-2021 sessions in Zoom for the foreseeable part of this syllabus year. It may be that in 2021 we can meet again in person. For the moment however, the current government guidelines and the risk to our members mean that this is not in any way feasible.

Whilst this will be a disappointment to many of our members there are positives to having the club meetings over zoom. The Zoom meetings held over the summer showed some of the positive aspects of this method of communication with regard to everyone being able to interact easily.  There are significant advantages to being able to share the screen of the person giving a talk especially when they illustrate techniques with software as this is far clearer on your own screen than at a distance in a hall. Likewise we have been able to have talks by photographers who are based far farther afield. With no travel costs these have been both very informative and very good value.  That said the camaraderie of meeting in person will be missed, as will club outings to specific locations. However based on the success of the picture a week that we ran over the summer a (PAQ) Picture A Quarter had also been introduced into the syllabus allowing us all to share images and get feedback and suggestions from the other club members.

We hope to see you all in person soon but in the interim, fire up your zoom connection and join us on a Thursday Evening.

If you are interested in and enjoy photography Kinross Camera Club may be for you!

The club was founded in 1985 and caters for adults of all abilities, attracting members from Kinross-shire, Fife and beyond.

We are a very friendly and sociable club and look forward to welcoming new members throughout the year. You don’t have to be a budding David Bailey (our past President started out with a tiny pink digi camera) – we are just a group of people who like taking photos and socialising…

If you visit our Syllabus page you will find previous copies of  the Syllabus from recent years. We like to include a broad mix of excellent speakers, instructional talks, entertaining club nights and helpful practical sessions.

All the meetings detailed below will take place at similar times but will be using Zoom for the foreseeable future.

Our regular Club Nights take place on Thursdays at 7.30pm from September till April in the main hall of the Kinross Church Centre, 64 High Street, Kinross, KY13 8AJ with the exception of the first Thursday of each month when we meet in the back room of the Church Centre, with access from the side door off Piper Row. Occasionally we use alternative venues but these will be communicated at prior Club Nights, by email to all members and on the news page of this website.

We also have a Digital Group which meets at 7:30pm on the last Tuesday of every month – see the Digital Group page for details.
